Kat & The Kings is an award-winning West End & Broadway smash hit musical created by David Kramer & Taliep Pietersen. Directed by David Kramer, the show has been running since the 1st of May 2012 at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town, and has enjoyed nightly sold out houses and standing ovations!
My wife & I took our little niece Kirsten and her mom, Grizelda, to see Kat & The Kings on the 18th of August 2012.
This was our second time seeing the show, but it was such an awesome experience that we just had to see it again. Kirsten enjoyed the show so much, although she was a bit afraid of ‘Ballie’s’ gimmick, the skeleton dance :). My wife managed to get us front row seats :), so Kirsty was talking, singing, dancing & waving at everyone on the stage so much, one of the staff members came to tell us that they were picking up Kirsty’s voice on the on-stage microphones! 🙂
After the show, the cast were really sweet enough to pose for a few photos with Kirsten. Kirsty’s favorite was of course ‘Lucy’, who’s twirling dress caused quite an impression on her :)! The show was absolutely fantastic, I for one thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone! We really wouldn’t mind seeing it again!
The show is currently on tour in Johannesburg at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre from the 20th September to 18th November 2012). I hope its as huge a success as it was here in Cape Town.
Here are some of the photos from our evening!
