Newlands Cricket Ground ~ 30 Nov 2012
I love celebrating ‘the firsts’ :). Somewhere out there, I’m sure there are those of us who have tried, and realized that its probably one of the most difficult things to actually keep track of. 🙂
For instance, did he actually smile, or was that just a wind. Or, did he just say mama or da da, can’t quite tell right. Or how about that first step, or was that him just standing up and kind of falling forward… hmmm, not sure, but it was so cute. 🙂 And then, before you know it, the little guy is speeding across the room.
Well, at least I love trying to keep up with the firsts. 🙂 And just like most other parents, my wife & I had the chance to take our little tiger to his first cricket match at Newlands Cricket Stadium. We went to see Cape Cobras vs Warriors play a 50 over day & night match. It was pretty hot that day, so we thought the weather would hold out; but the Cape Easter wind had other ideas. None the less, we had lots of fun. Our son, Micah, really loves stairs. And as luck would have it, Newlands has plenty of those, which meant I had to walk up and down the stairs between the seats at least 30 or so times. 🙂
When Micah eventually saw the cricket ball on the field, I had a tough time trying to keep him from getting onto the field. Of course, he’s too tiny to get over the fence, but you know what I mean. 🙂
In any event, I’m really looking forward to all the little things that my boy and I will get up to, at least while he still enjoys spending time with his dad that is. 🙂
So here’s to all the firsts! May they blessed… Enjoy the photos.
