On a leisurely Saturday afternoon at the V&A Waterfront, I shot these two lovebirds who are engaged to be married on the 28th of Sept 2013.
With a beautiful Cape Town sunset as our background, we made the most of the very pleasant weather on the day. Amy is family of my wife, Crystal, who of course tagged along with our little boy Micah. I always enjoy having the little dude around when I’m out shooting, although, my wife usually ends up having to run after him so that is always interesting. 🙂 Needless to say, the V&A usually has a really great buzz to it on a warm Saturday afternoon, so we had lots of fun just mulling around and taking in the scenery.
At first, the couple were a little bit shy in front of the camera. Shooting in front of lots of people can be a little bit awkward and intimidating sometimes, but this sweet couple are very easy going, and soon were well into their stride just enjoying each others company, and taking things nice and slow.
We ended up the evening grabbing a bite to eat at Primi and just getting to know each other a little bit. I love finding out about ‘the story’ of how each couple met, and these two have known each other from their school days, but only recently ‘engaged’. Popping the question is always a great story as well. Ask any guy and I’m sure you’ll find that they’re all glad that they only needed to do that once, :).
As the weeks go by so quickly, soon it will be time to tie the knot for these two. I’m looking forward to the day, as I’m sure they are too.
Amy & Ricardo, I hope you had fun with the shoot, and wish you all the best for your special day.
Stay blessed, and enjoy the photos.
